A Very Busy July Makes Me Super Happy!!!

Alright, here are a few samples of what I've been up to these last couple of weeks. I also have some new kids boards waiting to be uploaded, so keep an eye out for those. This is a new board that I designed for a friend that already owns an established board with her last name on it. It was requested that she get a board with all of her family's names on it. So I designed this totally new looking board with that in mind. The top has their first names, and along the bottom is Family Is Forever. I added a tree and a decorative frame around it. I am really pleased with the way it turned out. Carmel painted board, with a dark brown "overwash"...cream vinyl lettering. 8 in tall X 24 in long. $25.00 

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this board. It is a Family "motto" if you will, a sort of set of rules for a household. I am in the process of making one for my family which will include a line about bbq's and another about basketball. This is totally customizable with anything your family is "into" or does. The options are limitless.  Board is 24 in tall X 12 in wide. Kind of a different size, but great to hang with a list written on it. $35.00

I have been fortunate that with helping with my sister's recent wedding, she turned me onto a couple of trends that are popular, and super fun to do. So here are a couple of my newest versions of the Guest Book Tree. I have them featured on a previous post, but I thought it would be nice to see a couple different color variations that I have done. The top is done in greens, and the bottom tree is done in teals and silver. 20 in tall X 16 in wide canvas...this tree has 125 circles that could easily accomodate 250 signatures (keep in mind most couples/families sign on same space) $30.00

This is one of my favorite color combos. This dark colored board with rich carmel makes for a deep look that is slick and modern.  This is a larger sized board that would look great over a door, or outside along a deck or porch.  8 in tall X 36 in long. $36.00

I love how "old" looking fonts are all "new" again! I used the older looking under layer to definitely make a statement with the last name and established year, using a tan paint and black vinyl letters. The top layer is a bright red specifically used to match their personal decor, but could always be substituted with a more neutral color. This is another "large board"... 8 in tall X 36 in long. $36.00

This is a board with more of a classy, scrolly look to it. I really like the first name and established on the same layer, with the bold last name in the underlayer. 8 in tall X 24 in long. $25.00

This is a nice, clean looking board with a crisp looking under font overlayed with a strong, handwritten font for the first names.  This would look great next to the front door, or hung under some wedding photos. 8 in tall X 24 in long. $25.00 

Here is a great, casual looking board. It's one that was recently ordered from a board that was previously posted. I call it my "beachy" board. It has a real natural, worn look to it that was made to capture the look of some of the buildings and sings you see at the coast. 8 in tall X 24 in long. $25.00

June is full of Grads and Weddings

This has been a really busy season, and I'm loving every minute of it. So many people are allowing me to be creative in their orders, and I am super grateful not only for the business, but the leisure of stretching my artsy side! Thank you everyone! I have to thank a great family friend for inspiring me to do this canvas.  This is a picture of her graduating niece, at a very young age, done in a "stamp" style and put on a canvas. The quote at the bottom is a favorite of the graduate's and expresses the perfect sentiment. The picture was done small enough to leave room around the edges for family and friends to sign at her graduation party. This would also be nice for a wedding, using a great personal snapshot of the happy couple. Canvas measures 20" tall X 16" wide. $45.00

With graduations all over the place, it's been a great opportunity to inspire with great quotes, like this one with "Give me a place to stand, and I will move the world."  Purple board with gray vinyl. This is a little more mature look, but also playful and totally young-adult appropriate. Great for a dorm room wall, or new apartment. 8" tall X 24" long. $25.00

It definitely is wedding season around here. Eat, Drink, Be Married... 'nuf said.  This "lawn sign" I did for a friend, and it's going to be attached to a wooden stake to put out front of their wedding venue.  Black board with white vinyl makes this really crip and easy to read. This size is also great for directional signs with added arrows showing the way to your big event.

So this is a board that I did for my sister's bridal shower, that she put above her entry door. Black painted board with beige It's not the Destination... It's the Journey saying. A virtually universal gift,  along with it being super budget friendly makes this a no-brainer.

This is a brand new look to the wedding boards. The background name is done in a calligraphy brush font that gives a real inky, hand-painted look to the vinyl. Creamy green painted board with black and beige vinyl. Board is 8" tall X 24" long. $25.00

This is a great color combo. The dark "barn red" board is a great background color for the black and beige vinyl. The two fonts really work well together with the angular background letters and the more fluid top layer. 8" tall X 24" long. $25.00

I really like this simple design. It's not the destination, it's the journey is really perfect for just about any couple, whether to commemorate a lasting relationship, or for newlyweds. Carmel board with black background vinyl and beige overlay first names. Board is 8" tall X 24" long. $25.00

I did this gold painted board for one of the girls' friend's birthday. She is a huge horse-lover and we really wanted to keep it western looking. This would be great on a bedroom door, or on top of a dresser. Metallic gold paint with black vinyl name and horse art. Board is 6" tall X 18 " long. $18.00

Ok, so little Ezra is not getting married, nor graduating, but it's cute enough to post. The little handprints are great for either boy or girl boards. Light blue board with dark brown vinyl.

Guest Book Canvas...

Ok, since wedding season is upon us, I have been experimenting with some new items. It has been brought to my attention that a new trend out in the wedding sphere, or any major event really, are personalized guest books. So, with this in mind, I set out to offer some of my own...

 These are 16 in wide X 20 in tall canvases. Each tree allows for your guests to sign on it's handpainted "leaves", and then after your event it can be framed to hang as a reminder of your special day. This is a great way to remember your wedding, anniversary party, or even a baby shower.

There are a couple styles to choose from, which is based on the amount of signatures you are needing to accomodate. Both styles are customizable, just pick a color scheme, and how you want the names. This canvas has 150 leaves for signatures. I painted this with creamy blue greens, and some light leafy greens for a nice, light hue. It kind of reminds me of the colors of "ocean glass". Light ocean blue love birds sit on a lower branch.  Last name in brown vinyl at the bottom, along with the date.  I also added initials on the tree, for a fun carved look. This would be really great for a baby shower, with leaves in pinks or blues, and a nice baby saying at the bottom, like "we loved you before your were born" and put the parent's or baby's initials on the tree, with maybe a baby owl in place of the love birds. The options are virtually endless.   150 leaf canvas is $35.00

Ok, this one takes more of a modern look of a tree. Each circle is about the size of a quarter, and they are painted in shades of bright green, that give it a really fresh and crisp feel. Dark blue birds sit on the bottom branch, with couple's first names in matching vinyl along the bottom corner. This tree has 125 circles for signatures. I added a couple of  sample signatures to give you an idea of how it would look. Initials were not added to this tree, but if you would like them they can be easily done. I chose to use a real classic looking font for the names, but I can always try to match the font used on your invitations to stay with a certain theme.  125 cirlce canvas is $30.00

Well it just wouldn't be a Corner Barn & Co. post, if I didn't show some of my latest boards, either. This board is painted deep carmel over a black underlayer. Cream vinyl background name, and dark brown vinyl top layer. Live well, Laugh often, Love much is along the bottom. This saying really is good for anyone you know. It's simple and so true! 8 in X 24 in long board.  $25.00

This board was made to match the outside of their house. I really like the gray and black together. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite looks. It's a really detailed font, and adds a lot to the look of the board. 8 in X 24 in long. $25.00

Spring is off to a great start!

Alright, here's my newest installment of my latest works... Spring has really picked up, and I know that Summer is looking to be just as busy for everyone! I have a couple new looks that I am really pleased with, and hope they strike a note with you as well.  As always all the boards come with a sawtooth hanger on the back, for instant hanging. Also think about getting a board to add to a shelf or to sit along a dresser.  These boards make great additions to any decor you already have. This a different take on my usual "anniversary" boards. I call it a "Family" board. All of the names of the family are included in the top layer. This is a great gift for any family, especially one that has "everything". Live well, Laugh Often, Love much is a great sentiment to wish any family, in any stage of life. It would look great hung above family photos, or even out on the back porch, the options are virtually endless.  Mocha colored board, with black background vinyl for last name, and cream vinyl top layer for first names. It's not the destination...It's the journey, another great quote for a little different version of a "Family" board.  When this board was ordered, they wanted a quote along the bottom, and also a very small established included. She liked the idea of the established being a part of it, just not as large a focus.  I put the established down in the lower right hand corner, like a "made by" signature. We laughed and joked that we could have put a "made in Vegas" line there instead, since that's where they got married. I actually really like that idea, it's another way of addding a personal touch. You really can have a special ordered board that is not exactly like anyone else's. This is a larger board, to accomodate all the names, 8 in tall X 36 in long. $36.00 sawtooth hanger attached. 

Little hands are so precious! I was asked to add the baby's birth "stats" to this special order board, and was pleased with the way it turned out. These little hands can be added to any board, not just one with the birth info. Board is painted leaf green with dark brown vinyl lettering.  6 in tall X 18 in long. $18.00, sawtooth hanger attached.

Wish it, Dream it, Do it.... I think this is a great saying for any kiddo's room. A rocket and a stack made of a football, basketball, and baseball, what more does a little guy need?  It was the first time I used this really fun font, and thought it was a great fit for an "older" little boy. I painted this board barn red, to go with his dark blue room. I like to use contrasting colors for wall boards, so they can stand up against a brightly painted room. 6 in tall X 18 in long. $18.00

I am really liking the different looks of these two fonts together. The very straight, angular background with the softer, more swirly font on top.  Milk chocolate board with a cream vinyl back layer, and a carmel vinyl overlayer. 8 in tall X 24 in long,  $25.00

I recently did this board as a special order for a friend's sister. It turned out great, and matched her country decor perfectly.  I love the barn red board matched with the cream vinyl. Here is a fun board that was a big hit at the Christmas Fair this year.  Wine Diva? Why not? Who doesn't know a special lady that when seeing this, you instantly think of? 6 in tall X 8 in long board is strung with a black ribbon, that will easily slip over a doorknob, or cabinet pull.  Black painted background, with hand painted gray zebra print, with pink vinyl overlayer. Small size makes it also super easy to ship.  $5.95 (also available in brown giraffe print with white vinyl)

Here is a newer design for the OSU fans! Black board with burnt orange background vinyl, and white vinyl top layer. This board is 6 in tall X 18 in long. December was for others, January for yourself?

I have finally sat down to load up some of my favorites from the Christmas season, as well as some left overs from the Christmas Fair. This is a really big post, so keep scrolling down, since there's a lot to see...

Now that everyone has settled back into a routine, maybe it's time to pick up a little something for yourself.  Of course birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, and weddings never stop, so there's always a gift giving occasion coming up. I now have the ability to send an invoice through e-mail that allows you to pay either with your paypal account, or with your debit or charge card. This board is a new design, it was made for a couple that is fond of the beach. I chose really soft colors, and tried to give a laid back, weathered look to the board. These are some of the things I wanted to mimic about the signs and buildings that are at the coast. Board is painted carmel, with a black under layer, with sanded edges, that allows for the dark to peek through. This is one of my classic looks. It goes perfect with so many decors. I like to call it a "no-brainer" it's such an easy pick. Ivory board with carmel and chocolate brown vinyl. 8" X 24", $25.00

This board was for a couple who's fond of  Alice in Wonderland, with a last name of Hatt, who can blame them? The quote is from Alice in Wonderland, and I used a really fun, whimsical font that goes along with the theme. White board with black and gray vinyl. 8" X 24" board, $25.00

The saying  "It's never too late to fall in love..."  was added to this anniversary board, making it just that much more personal. Burgandy board with cream and carmel vinyl. 8" X 24" board $25.00

(I am just going to aplogize right now for the photo quality) This special order board was done on a

12" tall X 18" long board, which gave a little different dimension for the wording.  It was made to go outside their front door, under the front porch. It would also look great out by a BBQ grill, or patio. Using the couple's first names would be great too! 12" X 18" $25.00

Who doesn't want the word princess in front of their name? This fabulous board is painted sparkle dark pink, with pink vinyl. Perfect for that princess in your life! This board was done in the larger size of 8" X 24" $25.00, but could also be done in the 6" X 18" for $18.00

Butterflies were used to add a really cute detail to this little girl's board. There are so many options to add that special, personal touch to custom boards. Ok, so I got an idea to try showing my boards up on a wall, grouped with some photos. I thought it would help to visualize how they could be used as "captions" for your family photos or anything you currently have up on your walls. So, here is my first attempt at it. I really, really am liking this new board. I call it "Be Thankful". It is just a grouping of some great advice, that sometimes you need a little reminding of. I saw a wall hanging that was similar in idea, but it was missing some key elements. I have posted this type of board before, but can't get enough of it.
